GRANBY — This year’s Red Fire Farm’s Strawberry Soiree will feature, among other activities, a family friendly cocktail-style party where all dishes served incorporate strawberries.
The Strawberry Soiree Feast in the Fields, on Saturday, June 17, begins at 5:30 p.m. and tickets range from $35 to $55. The dinner takes place in the farm’s strawberry fields.
Chef Lauren Kendzierski of Chanterelle To Go said the menu is styled as a summer cocktail party. It will feature a cheese fondue station as well as hors d’oeuvres. Kendzierski said dessert will be served out of Chanterelle To Go’s vintage food truck and includes Indigo coffee and strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwiches.
Other items include a bacon-wrapped red onion confit with a strawberry balsamic glaze and a strawberry, cucumber and dill salad.
All items feature organic local produce. Kendzierski said that beyond Red Fire Farm’s produce, the cheese will come from Sweet Pea Farm in Connecticut and beyond serving Indigo Coffee, they are also supplying organic coffee sacks repurposed for decorations.
Outside of the dinner, the rest of the soiree is free and open to the public. Starting at 10 a.m. the farm is open for Pick Your Own strawberries.
At 2 p.m. the farm is offering tastings of different varieties of strawberries and will be selling strawberry shortcake.
There will also be live music and walking tours of the farm.
