ARLINGTON — Greenfield and New Salem are among the 88 communities in Massachusetts to earn the National Arbor Day Foundation’s 2016 Tree City USA Award.
The state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Deputy Commissioner for Conservation and Resource Stewardship Priscilla Geigis will present the awards today, June 7.
Also getting recognized are Smith College and UMass-Amherst for a Tree Campus USA award, while Eversource and National Grid earned Tree Line USA Award.
The program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation and is administered by the DCR.
