Introduction to Grasses at Arcadia: Wednesday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to noon. Sponsored by Connecticut River Valley Sanctuaries. Take a close look at members of the grass family at Arcadia, 127 Combs Road in Easthampton. Members are $8, nonmembers are $12. Register is required by calling 413-584-3009. Bring a hand lens and field guide, if you have them. Long pants and close-toed shoes are recommended. Bring insect repellent for better tick prevention.
Bike Path BINGO will be held Sunday, June 11, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Kids should grab their parents to go exploring. All ages are welcome as participants practice examining the natural world with field guides, binoculars and a fun game to see just how much you can see. Meet at the main entrance to the center on Avenue A in Turners Falls. Bring water, bug spray, sunscreen and wear sturdy shoes.
“Rock, Paper, Scissors” public art unveiling will be Saturday, June 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. Join state Department of Conservation and Recreation staff on Third Street as part of a daylong event — Turners Falls River Culture’s unveiling of Tim DeChristopher’s new public art sculpture.
