SHELBURNE — V. Matthew Marchese is Shelburne’s newest selectman. In a three-way write-in vote, Marchese received 145 votes, while rivals Jacqueline Walsh got 132 votes and Roland Giguere received 53.

According to Town Clerk Joseph Judd, 361 voters turned out for the election out of 1,399 — a total of about 26 percent.

Elected for three-year terms were: Assessor Joseph Mattei; Free Public Library Trustees Sherry Taylor and Debra Washer; and School Committee member Jason Cusimano. Jeremy McGeorge won a School Committee seat for a two-year unexpired term.

Elected for one-year terms unopposed were: Town Clerk Joseph Judd; Moderator Sylvia Smith and Tree Warden James Richardson.

Planning Board Chairman John Wheeler and Recreation Committee member Emily Schoelzel won five-year seats. Bradley Walker won a four-year Recreation Committee seat.
Thomas Johnson was elected to a four-year unexpired term on the Recreation Committee.
