Here are this week’s bird sightings from the Voices of Audubon for western Massachusetts.
A flock of 67 ravens was seen in Amherst. A cattle egret was reported in Hadley, and a Bonaparte’s gull was found at the southern end of the Quabbin Reservoir.
A sandhill crane was seen in Turners Falls. Also seen were five shovelers, four long-tailed ducks, a black tern, a common tern and a laughing gull.
Fourteen brant were on Pequot Pond in Westfield.
A long-tailed duck, a white-winged scoter and a Bonaparte’s gull were reported at Onota Lake in Pittsfield. A blue-winged teal was seen in Shefield, and a prothonotary warbler was reported in Great Barrington.
