ROWE — In a four-way race for the town clerk’s position, Katherine Sprague came out on top, earning 54 votes during Rowe’s election Saturday, according to Election Warden Robin Reed.
By comparison, the unofficial results show Sprague’s competitors Paul McLatchy III, Joanne Semanie and Heidi Cousineau earned 39 votes, 22 votes and 17 votes, respectively.
The former town clerk, Jennifer Morse, won a position on the Board of Selectmen with 82 votes, filling the seat formerly held by Walter Quist. Though not on the ballot, Michael Phillips earned a large number of write-in votes, with 22.
The other winners are: Frederick “Rick” Williams, Board of Assessors, with 107 votes; Maggie Rice, Board of Health for a two-year term, with 96 votes; David Cousineau, Board of Health for a one-year term, with 90 votes; Earl Carlow, Cemetery Commission, with 112 votes; Park Commissioner Laurie Pike, with 103 votes; Rev. Douglas Wilson, Planning Board for a five-year term, with 89 votes; Daniel Burke, Planning Board for a one-year term, with 99 votes; Susan Zavotka, School Committee, with 90 votes; and Constable Henry Dandeneau, with 20 votes.
Several positions required write-in votes, having no candidates take out nomination papers. Dan Poplawski earned 33 write-in votes for a three-year Board of Health seat and Rebecca Bradley earned 28 for a three-year seat as a Library Trustee.
Both McLatchy and Chuck Sokol earned write-in votes for three available Finance Committee seats: McLatchy with 21 and Sokol with 7 for one three-year seat; Sokol with 11 for a second three-year seat; and McLatchy with 13 for a one-year seat.
According to Reed’s figures, there were 134 ballots cast. With 276 registered voters in Rowe, the voter turnout rate was nearly 49 percent.
