SHELBURNE — The annual town election takes place Monday, with polls open in Memorial Hall, 51 Bridge St., from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
SHELBURNE — The Shelburne Selectboard will hold its 7 p.m. Monday, meeting on the lower floor of the Arms Library, instead of in Memorial Hall.
The town’s annual election is also taking place Monday, and the polls are located in the Selectboard’s Memorial Hall meeting room.

The Greater Shelburne Falls Area Business Association will discuss this topic at its “Business After Hours” meeting on Thursday, May 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Berkshire Pizzeria deck, on 72 Main St.

SHELBURNE — The Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on May 18, at 7:30 p.m. to consider a waiver of all parking requirements for the redevelopment of the old Singley Furniture building at 19-23 Bridge St. The meeting takes place in Memorial Hall.
Building owners Josh Simpson, Cady Coleman, Jon and Susan Stark are seeking the waiver, in accordance with the new zoning revisions, so that the structurally compromised structure can be replaced.
SHELBURNE FALLS — The Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum is now recruiting volunteers to help with its trolley car operation. It is also looking for volunteers willing to be ticket sellers, painters, carpenters, and to do grounds maintenance.
Training Day will be held at the museum on Depot Street on May 20, starting at 10 a.m. The Trolley Museum will provide hands-on and “classroom” training for all our trolley and pump car crew members. The day is geared for requalifying returning crew members, but new volunteers should attend as well.
The program will cover safety issues, proper operation, and talk about passenger care and the history of No. 10. The trolley crew helps guests take a 15-minute ride back in time on the historic trolley, which was restored in 1999, and had carried freight and passengers on the Shelburne Falls and Colrain Railway between Shelburne Falls and Colrain. It also crossed the Deerfield River on a concrete bridge now known as the “Bridge Of Flowers.”
Safety and Instruction Supervisor Alden Dreyer said motormen and conductors are needed on weekends from Memorial Day weekend until the end of October.
“Our day is split in half so you can be with us for 3½ or 7 hours as you wish,” said Dreyer.
