Here are the bird sightings, so far in May in western Massachusetts, from Voices of Audubon:

An adult male painted bunting has been coming to a feeder in Huntington.

A glossy ibis was found in Hatfield, and great egrets were seen in Northampton and Sheffield.

A flock of 12 gadwalls was reported in Turners Falls.

A white-winged scoter, two surf scoters and a Bonaparte’s gull were on Onota Lake in Pittsfield.

A long-tailed duck was reported in Stockbridge, a black scoter was seen in Hinsdale and a sora was found in Lenox.
