TURNERS FALLS — The Brick House Community Resource Center is hosting an open house in conjunction with the annual Valley Gives Day Tuesday, May 2.
The Open House is a way to bring the community into the space, where there will be tours and food and donors can meet the newer Brick House staffers or learn more about the center. The event will run from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Brick House, 24 Third St. in Turners Falls.
This is the fourth time the organization is participating in Valley Gives, and the first time it’s hosting an open house for Valley Gives, according to Karen Stinchfield, a Brick House staffer.
Stinchfield said all ages are welcome at the event, which she hopes can help inform the community about what the Brick House does.
“The Brick House is a key entity that supports not only the community-at-large, but brings together and supports other nonprofit efforts, and partners with other community entities,” Stinchfield said. “A donation to The Brick House supports the community as a whole.”
In addition to tours and information about the center, there will also be art displayed from center’s Momentum Art after school group.
The Brick House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, with a teen space, where kids can come after school, as well as two rentable spaces that can be used for concerts, galleries and events.
Valley Gives is an annual day of giving where donors can give money to charities and nonprofits in the Pioneer Valley. It’s runs from 12:01 a.m. to midnight on May 2, and donors can give money through valley-gives.org.
