SOUTH DEERFIELD — Town officials will hold a pre-annual town meeting informational meeting this evening to discuss items on this year’s warrant.
The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the Conway Street office building and provide time for questions and answers.
Of note on the warrant and in addition to annual recurring items such as the budget, residents this year will vote on a few logistical issues to facilitate two substantial donations.
Town Administrator Wendy Foxymn said Deerfield Academy intends to build a building on land next to the South Deerfield Fire Station and gift it for South County EMS’s new building.
Talk will also cover South Deerfield Congregational Church’s intended 71 North Main St. building gift, which town officials would like to see converted into a new senior center — freeing up the current center’s space for possible affordable senior housing units.
