Life in a Pond: Earth Day Celebration at Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center. Its pond is teeming with intriguing insects, tadpoles, salamanders and more. Join the center on April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. on a family adventure exploring life in a pond. Using nets, magnifiers, field guides and games you will immerse yourself (not literally) in the world of a pond. It’s a rich community of creatures. The center’s staff will share ideas on how we can all be better stewards of life on earth and in a pond. Saturday Morning Bird Walk with George Regmund. Arcadia Wildlife Sanctuary, 127 Combs Road., Easthampton will offer an adult walk on April 22 from 7 to 9 a.m. The cost is $5. Join field biologist George Regmund for one or more early morning bird walks during spring migration. Each walk will take place at a different location within Arcadia’s more than 700 acres.
