Special town meeting April 18

ASHFIELD — Special town meeting voters will be asked to adjust at least $47,000 within the town’s approved budget to cover various expenditures within town departments. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall.

Money transfers on the warrant include: $2,300 from the assessor’s overlay account to the assessor’s expense account; $5,000 for tree warden expenses; $3,700 to the treasurer salary account; $450 to the treasurer expense account; $1,250 to the town clerk expense account; $700 for special project staffing; $21,000 to the police cruiser account; and $11,500 into the unemployment expense account.

Last call for town voter registration

ROWE — A voter registration session will be held Tuesday, April 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rowe Town Hall and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Rowe Fire Station.

This is the last chance for residents to register to vote in the annual town meeting on May 8 and the annual town election on May 13.

Cemetery work day

HAWLEY — Residents are asked to spend Earth Day morning, April 22, from 9 to 11 a.m. helping to clean up the Doane Cemetery, on Forget Road.
