Wendell candidate forum Friday

WENDELL — The two candidates vying for a seat on the Wendell Selectboard will appeal to voters at a candidates forum slated for Friday.

Incumbent Dan Keller and challenger Ray DiDonato are scheduled to appear side by side from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Town Hall.

According to a statement, most of the forum will be devoted to questions from the floor. Responses will be limited to three minutes.

Transfer station closed Tuesday

ORANGE — The Orange Recycling Center and Transfer Station will be closed Monday, April 18, due to the Patriots Day holiday.

Easter egg hunt on Saturday

ORANGE — The Orange Lions Club has planned its annual Easter egg hunt for April 15.

It will be held at Butterfield Park. It starts at 10 a.m. and goes until all the eggs are found. It is for children up to 12. Bring your own basket.

Run4Kids this Saturday at Mahar

ORANGE — Swift River School’s third annual Run4Kids is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Ralph C. Mahar Regional School track on Saturday, April 15.

The event is hosted by the school’s 100 Mile Club and the Mahar track team. Club members will log laps to complete their goals of 100 miles this school year. Attendees are encouraged to set goals for themselves. Participants can run or walk a lap, a mile or a 5K.

There will be fitness games, raffles and exercise demonstrations. Food from Sun Kim Bop will be available for purchase. The event is rain or shine. Donations to support the 100 Mile Club will be accepted.

Athol plans to flush hydrants

ATHOL — The town’s water division plans to flush hydrants from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday, April 17, to Friday, April 21.

Residents may experience low water pressure and/or rusty water. They are advised to refrain from washing clothes during these times.

Say goodbye to Town Counsel

ATHOL — The Board of Selectmen invites residents join them as they bid farewell to Town Counsel Mark Goldstein, who is beginning a new career as a judge for Worcester District Court.

The reception is set for Tuesday, April 18, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
