I was very disappointed to learn that the Gill Selectboard has denied the voters of Gill the right to express our opinion when they voted down the nonbinding referendum question on the May ballot regarding the matter of the TFHS Indians logo.
Gill is part of the Gill-Montague Regional School District and as such we should have the right to express our opinion on the matter. It seems that two of the three board members let their personal feelings on the issue make this decision for them.
Kudos to Randy Crochier, the only member of the board who, regardless of how he felt about the issue, still voted to let the taxpaying citizens of Gill have their say. Its unfortunate that Mr. Snedeker and Mr. Ward could not give us the same consideration!
