GREENFIELD — Police are searching for a missing 15-year-old girl who was last seen in Turners Falls more than a week ago.

Khmery Som (pronounced Kah-Mary) went missing from a residential program in Greenfield on March 25 and was last seen in Turners Falls the following day with men who are described as “trouble,” according to Jamie Guerin, Som’s stepmother.

“She may have left on her own, but she’s definitely in danger because the people she was seen with are very dangerous people — criminals, older men who have no business with a kid,” Guerin said when reached by phone Friday.

Som is described as Cambodian, 5 feet, 3 inches, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Guerin said Som may be in Greenfield, Turners Falls, Amherst, Holyoke, Pittsfield, Lowell or Northampton.

“She looks a lot older than 15, she’ll probably be hanging out with adults or kids who are much older,” Guerin said. “She might be places where there’s free Wi-Fi.”

On her Facebook page, Guerin described her stepdaughter as an incredibly talented and smart individual who taught herself to play the piano and guitar, and who can sing beautifully. She wrote that Som also paints and loves horses, and is a compassionate older sister to her younger siblings.

“Her siblings miss her very much and are worried,” Guerin said.

Greenfield Police confirmed that they are looking for Som.

“She has so many opportunities open to her. We need her to be safe and surrounded by positive role models, and people who truly love her and want the best for her,” Guerin wrote in a Facebook post.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the Greenfield Police Department at 413-773-5411 or the police department in the town where she’s seen. Guerin said people can also call or text her anonymously at 413-404-6577.
