ASHFIELD — Because of tonight’s anticipated snow storm, the March 14 annual caucus, to nominate candidates for town office, has been postponed to Thursday, March 16, starting at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall.
BUCKLAND — Because of today’s storm, the Board of Selectmen have changed their meeting to Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall.
BUCKLAND — Zachary Turner of North Street is the only candidate on the ballot running for election to Rob Riggan’s open Board of Selectmen seat in the May 1 annual town election.
Several incumbents are seeking re-election, and two candidates not on the ballot are willing to serve through write-in votes.
Paul “PJ” Herbert is willing to serve another three-year term as constable if he is returned to office by write-in votes.
Although no one filed nomination papers for Buckland’s open seat on the Mohawk Trail Regional School District Committee, David Parrella of Cross Street is willing to run as a write-in candidate for this position.
The following candidates are running for three-year terms, unless otherwise noted: Town Clerk Janice Purington; Board of Assessors Pamela Guyette (three-year term) and Elizabeth Cerone (one-year term); Board of Health Terry Estes; Buckland Public Library Marjorie “Jorie” MacLeod; and Finance Committee members George Langford and Benjamin Murray.
