Town Elections to be held May 15

GILL — The annual Town Election will be held May 15 at the Gill Fire Station from noon to 8 p.m. The deadline for voter registration is 8 p.m. on April 25. Voters can register at the town clerk’s office.

The offices on the town ballot this year include:

Selectboard, assessor, cemetery commissioner, tax collector, Board of Health, library trustee, and three constable positions. These are for three—year terms.

There is also one tree warden position for a one—year term, and one assessor for a two—year term.

Of those offices, two are currently vacant, the three—year assessor’s position and the one—year tree warden position. Please call the town clerk’s office if you have interest in running on this ballot. Nomination papers are available now until March 23 and must be returned by March 27. All offices require 20 signatures of registered town voters.

School Committee has one seat open

GILL — There is one three—year term Gill School Committee seat open. All nomination papers for this office are available at the Gill—Montague Regional School Superintendent’s Office, 35 Crocker Ave., Turners Falls. Dog licenses are now available

GILL — Dog licenses are available at the town clerk’s office. The deadline is April 1, after which there is a late fee. For any questions, call Gill town clerk 863—8103.
