COLRAIN — Registered town Democrats will hold a caucus Saturday
The caucus will be held at the Griswold Memorial Library at 12 Main Road.
The Massachusetts Democratic Convention on June 3 at the Tsongas Arena is where Democrats statewide will gather to adopt a new party platform.
“Our caucuses are a great opportunity to strengthen our party’s organization and to welcome new participants who are interested in getting involved in our party,” said state Democratic Party Chairman Gus Bickford. “Delegates will be voting on our party platform in Lowell, and we want to make sure that every Democrat has a voice in this process,” he said.
The state caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Colrain. Anyone who is not 18 years old at the time of the caucus, but who will be 18 by the Sept. 11, 2018 primary date, may pre-register with their town clerk, according to the Massachusetts Democratic Committee website. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and the voting will be done on written ballots. Youth minorities and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be add-on delegates, either at their caucus or online at:
