CONWAY — The Franklin Land Trust is organizing a community wetland cleanup today, Wednesday, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the town common on Whately Road.

In light of damages from Saturday’s tornado, volunteers will clean up debris that landed in the wetland and hayfields between Whately Road and Academy Hill Road. Participants are asked to wear sturdy boots and work gloves, bring trash bags or tarps and a truck if possible.

Volunteers are asked to park on either Fisher Place Road, Maple Road, or Whately Road, and to be mindful of emergency and construction vehicles at all times, especially when parking.

Children are asked not to come for safety reasons, because part of the work will be removing metal shards, glass, and wood scraps with nails.
