GREENFIELD — A bicyclist was sent to the hospital after being struck by a car at the corner of Federal and Maple streets Monday afternoon.

Greenfield police said the accident is still under investigation, but the cyclist’s injuries did not appear to be serious. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Federal and Maple streets. The vehicle, a white Toyota Yaris with Vermont plates, sustained damage to its front left bumper.

The Greenfield police and fire departments and MedCare Ambulance responded to the scene.
