HAWLEY — Nomination papers for the May 1 election are available at the Town Hall, 8 Pudding Hollow Road or by contacting the Town Clerk, Pamela Shrimpton, at 413-339-4091.
March 9 is the final day to get nomination papers and March 13 is final day to submit them to the Board of Registrars/Town Clerk. Twenty-five signatures of registered Hawley voters are needed in order to be put on the ballot.
The list of offices on the May 1 ballot includes the following: Selectboard/Board of Health, Town Clerk, Board of Assessors, Hawlemont School Committee and Representative to K-12 Committee for MTRSD. Each have one position open for a three-year term.
There are also several vacancies on town committees. Residents are encouraged to consider submitting their name to the Selectboard for consideration of an appointment to the Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, Historical Commission, Representative to the Cooperative Public Health Oversight Committee, and/or the Agricultural Committee.
The last day to register to vote for the annual town election is Tuesday, April 11.
