Why not start with no U-turns on Main and Federal streets, in Greenfield? Many of our good friends are not ready for folks turning into a parking spot on the other side of the road. Don’t ask me; ask the police if that is a U-turn? Sometimes, a surprise is nice, but not on the highway.
Some drivers are stopping at stop signs and red lights. Maybe we should follow their good example? The life you save may be your own. Can you spare just two or three seconds? The penalty for not stopping at stop signs used to be $25 each instance. At $25 for 3 seconds work, that figures to be $500 per minute, times 60 equals $30,000 per hour. Wow! Don’t tell the IRS.
With so many cars on the road, one needs to pay attention all the time. Safety organizations recommend us not to use cell phones or text to take our minds off driving. Some states outlaw cell phone use while driving. It’s hard to grow up and do what we are supposed to do. Maybe God can help us. We can try.
