LEVERETT — Town officials are seeking public response to a regional Community Development Block Grant application for housing rehabilitation funds covering Leverett, Conway, Deerfield and Sunderland.

To that end, a public hearing will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Selectboard’s meeting room in the Leverett Town Hall. A snow date has been scheduled for Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the same location.

“The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the contents of the application, which will include a regional Housing Rehabilitation Program activity,” notes a legal notice about the public hearing posted recently in the newspaper.

Representatives from the Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority, which has helped put together the application on behalf of all four towns, will be on hand at Tuesday’s hearing to answer questions. Leverett is lead town in the application.

If awarded, a certain amount of income-eligible residents from each town will be able to get funding for housing repairs including insulation and roofing projects, among many other possibilities. Currently, there’s a waiting list for the funding; however, interested residents can still apply by contacting Jen Morrow at 413-863-9781, ext. 137, or email: jmorrow@fcrhra.org.

The announcement notes, “the towns of Leverett, Conway, Deerfield and Sunderland encourage residents to attend the meeting where any person or organization wishing to be heard will be afforded the opportunity. If residents are unable to be present at the Public Hearing written comments can be made to the Town of Leverett, Leverett Town Hall, Executive Administrator, 9 Montague Road, Leverett, MA 01054.”
