Ecclesiastical Council set for Sunday
BERNARDSTON — The Franklin Association, United Church of Christ (UCC), will hold an Ecclesiastical Council for Lee-Ellen Strawn, chaplain at Northfield Mt. Hermon School and member of the United Church of Bernardston. The council will be held at the United Church of Bernardston on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. Ecclesiastical Council is one of the final steps in a candidate’s journey to ordained ministry in the UCC. At this meeting, the candidate makes a presentation based on his or her ordination paper to members of the Franklin Association. On completion, the council votes whether or not to authorize ordination. The public is welcome to attend. A coffee hour will follow.
DEERFIELD — The Brick Church Music Series at The First Church of Deerfield, 71 Old Main St., will present Sirena Huang, violin, and Pi-Hsun Shih, piano, in an exciting concert on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m. Both musicians are exceptionally talented and are seasoned performers in Europe, Asia and the United States. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door with a reception in the Caswell Library at Deerfield Academy following the concert.
