In a time of increasing sensitivity and unfortunate disunion of people of different beliefs in this country, I was dumbfounded to read a letter printed on January 7. A few weeks ago, a young man from Orange, was involved in a hunting accident. A writer from PETA took this tragedy to promote her divisive animal rights agenda.

Our country is so divided, mostly because people are not treating each other with any decency. Common courtesy is anything but common. If we treated each other with respect, even if we had differing opinions, our discussions would be much more productive.

Please take this woman’s audacity as a lesson to educate yourself on all sides of an issue, imagine yourself in another person’s shoes, and be respectful and supportive of people going through a tough time.
