Last Saturday I had a most enjoyable time watching Verdi’s Nabucco on the big screen at Memorial Hall in Shelburne Falls. I am not an “Opera Lover,” but the experience of watching an opera live from the Met, where the story is introduced to you first, changes the experience.
Watching the opera in HD enhanced the music, vocals, dancing, colors, costumes as well as the set design and construction. At intermission, the host takes you backstage to interviews with the cast, conductor, and set designer. We are so lucky to have this great opportunity in Shelburne Falls.
The next opera at Memorial Hall will be Gounod’s Romeo and Juliette, Saturday, January 21 at 12:55 p.m. The preview shown last Saturday shows the familiar story including lots of color, music and dancing. It will be a great way to spend a cold winter afternoon.
