I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts freely when some places around the world don’t allow it. We are lucky to still have this right. I am also grateful for the service of our town boards and committees and their commitment to deciding what is best for Greenfield.

Greenfield’s master plan states that our growth must be “planned economic and community development that attempts to curb urban sprawl and worsening environmental conditions.” These words hold a lot of meaning for me as I chose Greenfield for my home. Greenfield embodies all the beauty my hometown has lost, while at the same time, affording close proximity to local markets, second hand shops, and other enjoyable places.

Another Dunkin Donuts or Cumberland Farms won’t generate new income. It will spread money thinner among what’s already here.

More thoughtful research needs to be done and a vote to remove the overlay needs to be “no.” Removing the overlay is not in Greenfield’s best interest.
