ORANGE — Dog licenses are now available at the town clerk’s office.
All dogs 6 months or older must be licensed by March 31. Licenses are $20, or $10 if the animals are spayed or neutered. Proof of spaying or neutering, along with proof of rabies vaccination, must be presented at the time of licensing.
Licenses can also be obtained online by visiting www.townoforange.org. Failure to license before March 31 will result in a $50-per-dog late fee.
The town clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1 p.m.) on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.) on Wednesdays.
If you no longer have your dog, you are asked to inform the town clerk by calling 978-544-1100, ext. 101.
ORANGE — The Community Health Center of Franklin County plans to host “In From the Cold: A Healthy Winter Social” on Thursday, Jan. 12.
The free event at 450 West River St. in Orange is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The Community Health Center of Franklin County is partnering with the North Quabbin Chamber of Commerce to discuss what a community health center can do for townspeople.
Assistance will be given to non-benefited employees looking for coverage through the Massachusetts Health Connector before the Jan. 31 deadline.

Sidewalk clearing reminder
ATHOL — The town’s website reminds people that Athol bylaws require property owners abutting a sidewalk to remove snow and ice within 48 hours after any storm event.
