Ja’Duke Center for the Performing Arts will celebrate 20 years this year and would like you to help celebrate at a free birthday bash.

The celebration will include a show on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 7 p.m. at Greenfield High School. The night will be filled with remembering the past, celebrating the present and looking to the future.

There will be more than 100 performers entertaining during the birthday show, which will take the audience back in time to relive some of Ja’Duke’s greatest moments, including selections by the original casts of “Rent” and “The Sound of Music.”

The audience will be let in on some trade secrets, including what makes the magic carpet in “Aladdin” fly and how plants talk in “Little Shop of Horrors.”

Throughout the evening, the audience will be treated to selections from Ja’Duke’s original works, including the recently published “Fairy Tea Party.”

Other highlights will include the unveiling of Ja’Duke’s 20th anniversary season, always based on popular vote.

Ja’Duke’s show will include past and present performers, students of the performing arts school, troupes and the cast of the upcoming “Madagascar Jr.”

There will be prizes, adience participation and lots of musical fun.
