Greenfield is considering becoming a Welcoming Community, or perhaps a Sanctuary Community, like a number of other towns in the area. Regardless of what we do, Greenfield includes a broad range of folks with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
I think some might find it offensive that a creche has been placed in one of our most visible common areas. There are people with many different religious beliefs living here.
If a Christian Church wants to have a creche on its property, that would be fine. But to have a symbol of one particular religion on the “Town Common” warrants reconsideration.
