The selectmen, town councilors, may and even the president of the United States say drugs are not legal. But we have medical marijuana legalized. We all know other people get marijuana from these people get into trouble.

Why don’t we just make all drugs legal? That way, no one will get into trouble.

Honestly, I don’t think any drugs should be legal. When people do drugs, they do stupid things like robbery, murder, rape, etc and they end up in jail.

I’m happy BHN has a detox center in Greenfield. I had a brother who had problems with drinking. At the time, I asked for help for him but was told there was no place for him to go, “so we’ll send him home with you.” They would sober him up and out the door he went. I did not have the education to know what to do with him. After quite a few years of this with him — being sent home with no help — he died.

If we had had a detox center for him to go to, he, or others, may not have died at such or young age. Hospitals and detox centers can send people home within 24 to 48 hours. That is not enough time for anybody to be set “free.” They need to be in detox for at least one week or more with education on how to deal with the devil that is booze or drugs.

Help is the big thing people need. If we close our eyes to people who need help, then say goodbye when the police pick them up. With no help, people don’t learn they can stop. Let all of us help people in need.
