I don’t always go to Orange and Athol, but today, I made a trip to deliver some toys to the Toys for Tots program collection.
I shopped in Orange at Walmart for the toys. When checking out I noticed five self-check-out aisles! There were only two humans working at check-out aisles. This sent me fuming. Why doesn’t a huge corporation like Walmart hire a few more people in this community?
I was told there is nothing the staff, management or otherwise can do about this and was given a number to call to register my complaint. I will be happy to do this and I encourage others to make this toll free call as well at 1-800-walmart.
Here is an additional suggestion: Boycott those self-check-out registers! Take a deep breath and wait in line for a real person to check you out. This goes for grocery stores as well. The word will get back to corporate headquarters! We need to stand up to corporations and their mission to keep lining their pockets and those of their shareholders while replacing people with robots.
And while I am ranting, those cashiers and others need to earning a living wage and have full-time employment with health insurance benefits.
