WENDELL — Daniel Levangie, 40, of Wendell was airlifted by LifeFlight to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester following a hit-and-run on Lockes Village Road Friday evening.
According to Wendell Police Chief Ed Chase, Levangie had been riding his bicycle when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
“Nobody saw it happen,” Chase said.
The call went out shortly after 5 p.m. and Wendell police and firefighters responded. Levangie was transported by ambulance to Orange Municipal Airport, then by LifeFlight helicopter to UMass Memorial.
Chase declined to elaborate on Levangie’s condition, and said the case would likely be turned over to the Massachusetts State Police detective unit.
