SHELBURNE — Route 2 was closed in front of the First Congregational Church after a crash around 4:30 Thursday evening. The road re-opened around 5:30.

Sgt. David McKearney of the state police said a car traveling west drifted over the line and struck the truck, which was part of a convoy carrying a modular home.

The impact tore most of the side of the car off and sliced through the windshield, he said. “She’s lucky she wasn’t killed,” he said of the car’s driver.

The tractor trailer drove off around 5:15.

A LifeFlight medical evacuation helicopter was requested but cancelled, according to traffic on police radio. An ambulance was observed leaving the scene.

Massachusetts state police, Medicare ambulance and Greenfield emergency responders were on scene.
