Youth Basketball Program: Registration for Montague residents has begun for Start Smart Basketball for children in grades kindergarten to 2. Program runs from early January to late February 2017; Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Enrollment maximum 18. Montague Residents $30. Due to the low enrollment capacity of this program, nonresidents will automatically be placed on the waiting list until close to the start of the program.
Annual Sawmill River 10K Run: Registration has begun for this New Year’s Tradition! This year’s race will be Dec. 31 in Montague Center Village; 10 a.m. start. Register online at www.runreg.com or www.montague.net. USA Track & Field sanctioned. Entry Fees: $25 (paid before Dec. 30 noon) $30 (paid thereafter). Divisions: Youth, 18 and younger. Open: 19 to 39. Master: 40 to 49. Senior: 50 to 59. Senior-plus: 60 and older. Proceeds benefit Sponsor-A-Child Scholarship Program
Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest is Saturday, Jan. 7, 2 p.m. Boys and girls compete separately, and by age category, to make as many free throws as possible. Winners advance to regional competition. Participation is free. Who: boys and girls ages 10 to 14, at Sheffield School Gym. Registrations are accepted day of event.
