GREENFIELD – A 25-year-old woman who was found dead in Springfield last Saturday was identified today as a Greenfield resident.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney said Wednesday afternoon that officers found Judith Kimball “in the rear of 30 High St.” in his city.

“A passerby spotted the body of the young female and alerted two police officers that were towing a car on Temple Street,” Delaney wrote The Recorder in an email.

Delaney said officials don’t know why she died, noting that the “Major Crime Unit is still investigating the death. Detectives under the Command of Capt. Trent Duda are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results. Once we determine cause of death the Major Crime Unit will continue the investigation.”
