Julie Girard married Kevin Golembiewski on November 19, 2016. They exchanged vows in Savannah, Georgia at a small ceremony.
Julie, (the daughter of Mark and Cheryl Girard) hails from Montague, and Kevin, a Florida native, met in 2008 while they were students at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Kevin fell in love with Julie’s strength, compassion, and sense of humor, and Julie fell for Kevin’s charisma and commitment to social justice. During their time at Holy Cross, Julie and Kevin celebrated the election of President Barack Obama, took several road trips to Long Beach Island, New Jersey, and spent countless holidays and weekends with Julie’s family.
After graduating from Holy Cross in 2010, Julie and Kevin moved to Cambridge, where Julie worked as a social worker and Kevin attended Harvard Law School. In 2013, Julie was admitted to the University of Pennsylvania Law School in Philadelphia. As a result, following Kevin’s graduation from Harvard, the couple moved to Philadelphia. There, Kevin practiced as a civil rights attorney while Julie attended law school. Julie graduated from law school in 2016, and the couple relocated to Tampa, Fla.
Julie is currently an associate attorney at Greenberg Traurig’s Tampa office, and Kevin is a law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. The couple has a cat named Ina, whom they adore.
Julie and Kevin spend their time together playing board games, reading, going on bike rides and watching Netflix. Both agree that their favorite memory together is their wedding day.
