Hunter’s Supper benefits church

WARWICK — A Hunter’s Supper will be held at Warwick Town Hall Friday with proceeds benefiting the Trinitarian Congregational Church of Warwick.

Seating is at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and the meal will feature homemade onion soup, braised beef, mashed potatoes, squash, coleslaw and homemade pies. Takeout orders are available.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Children under 3 eat for free.

Holiday fair on Sat.

NORTHFIELD — Northfield Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Organization will hold its annual holiday fair Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.

The PTO will be in the cafeteria selling: tickets for raffle prizes like a Kindle Fire tablet and a Christmas tree; Northfield Elementary School merchandise like T-shirts, tumblers and magnets; breakfast and lunch foods; and handmade wreaths. The Scholastic Book Fair will also be in the cafeteria.

Additionally, the Northfield Kiwanis will have a raffle, and local crafters and vendors will have booths set up in the gym.

Open studio this weekend

LEYDEN — Three Leyden artists will hold open studio events Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The open studios will be at Leyden Glen Lamb Farm and Alicia Hunsicker Fine Art Studio, located at 31 and 40 Glen Road, respectively.

The artists — Kristin Nicholas, Alicia Hunsicker and Deborah Garner — will share their original art, prints, pottery, textiles, jewelry and crafts. Special guests include Debbie Bernard with wreaths and Gail Callahan with hand-dyed yarns and silk.

Bright Nights trip

LEYDEN — The Leyden Council on Aging is organizing a van trip to the annual holiday lighting celebration “Bright Nights” at Forest Park in Springfield for Thursday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m.

The trip is limited to 15 participants. Residents are asked to call Council on Aging Chairwoman Gilda Galvis at 413-773-7932 to sign up.

Scholarships available

NORTHFIELD — The 2017-2018 Fred W. Wells Fund scholarship applications are now available in the main hallway at Town Hall. Applications are due by March 20, 2017.

Tax rate meeting

BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Board of Selectmen announced the proposed tax rate during a Nov. 22 meeting.

The proposed rate for 2017 is $19.78 per $1,000 valuation, a 32 cent increase from 2016’s $19.46 rate.
