2:24 p.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle reported on Aster Court, and the reporting person says prescribed medications were taken; officer to investigate.
5:09 p.m. — Two-vehicle accident reported on the Mohawk Trail, but no injuries reported, and situation investigated.
6:15 p.m. — Report from Pine Ridge Estate on Bradford Drive where a caller gave a description of a vehicle and the people who dumped about 10 bags of garbage in the Pine Ridge Estate dumpster; the reporting person told them to take their trash and leave; they left, but refused to take all of their trash; an officer contacted the known person involved, and advised him to retrieve his dumped garbage, or be charged with littering; he promptly returned and took his items.
6:42 p.m.— Traffic stop on the Route 2 by-way where the officer cited the operator for going 78 miles per hour, in a 55 mph zone, the 18-year-old male from Easthampton is being summoned for speeding, and operating a motor vehicle with license suspended.
11:09 a.m. — Suspicious activity at the Sandri StopSmart on Federal Street where the reporting person says a highly intoxicated male is inside the store and had been stumbling around, but now is outside near the dumpster; area checked, unable to locate.
1:06 p.m. — Accident reported at the Big Y Foods lot on the Mohawk Trail with air bag deployment and steam coming from one vehicle, Medcare contacted, but they are unavailable, and requested Greenfield, Fire Department for primary if needed; tow trucks requested for both vehicles; no mention of injuries on the log.
2:30 a.m. — Disturbance on Norwood Street where a reporting person says two people are yelling and screaming back and forth; officer sent and found the apartment unsecured, found front and back doors open; officers checked the apartment and no one located, and nothing appears to be out of order; all quiet on arrival.
9:11 a.m. — Disturbance reported on Maple Street where a male was said to be acting in an unsafe manner, hitting himself in the head; officer spoke with the male, and he requested transport to the ER at Baystate Franklin Medical Center for mental heath evaluation; the male was transported to the hospital.
9:16 a.m. — Breaking and entering attempt reported at the US Department of Agriculture office on Federal Street; there were signs of the use of a pry bar on the door, with damage done; officer spoke to the reporting person and the damage was done attempting to make entry sometime between this past Wednesday and this morning. Under investigation.
10:38 a.m. — Police found a store turkey with a wooden cross stabbed through it on the Greenfield Town Common. The turkey was collected and thrown away.
12:37 p.m. — A caller reported an accident without injuries at the Interstate 91 rotary between a black 2008 Mercury Mountaineer and a black 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK350. The driver of the Mountaineer had exited the northbound off-ramp and stopped to merge into rotary traffic. The driver of the GLK350 exited behind the first vehicle and, believing the car had started to merge, rear-ended the first vehicle. The driver was cited for failure to use care.
3:50 p.m. — Report of a hit and run accident on Fourth Street where the caller says it occurred either last night or today; the reporting person recalls vaguely the details about a vehicle that was in front of his vehicle last night, but didn’t observe that vehicle damage his vehicle; officer advised the reporting person, and report taken.
7:25 p.m. — Walk in requests to speak with an officer regarding an altercation that took place in Leverett earlier today; officers spoke with the reporting person, and he was referred to Leverett Police.
8:16 p.m. — Reporting person called while en route to the police station and advised that while driving on Greenfield Road something struck the roof of her vehicle, but thinks a tree could have fallen onto her vehicle; officer could find no obvious damage, but officer then advised an owl may have flown into her vehicle, based on a white substance on the reporting person’s vehicle; officer checked the area, and located the owl on the side of the road and the owl appeared to possibly be inured, but was making its way back into the wood.
11:01 p.m. — Report of 3 or 4 homeless people in the Third Street laundry and the business closes at 10 p.m. Officers sent, and upon clearing they advised of the identity of the male that was inside; the male has moved along.
8:33 a.m. — Reporting person called to say he left his coffee pot on at his apartment, on Main street in Montague Center, and requests a member of the fire department go in his apartment and turn it off; the reporting person is en route home, about 10-minutes out. Officer and Shelburne Control advised, and then the reporting person called back on 911 to advise he was home, and the coffee pot is off now; Montague Center Fire Department was already en route, and the reporting person will remain on scene to speak with the fire department.
11:13 a.m. — Report of two vehicles parked in the middle of the bridge to Turners Falls Road on the Greenfield side, at the base of the hill; one is trying to jump start the other; Greenfield and local officer advised, and the vehicles were clearing upon arrival.
