Reasons for thanks November 2016:
We can go to any church or temple we choose, without interference. No one can deny us the right to education for our children right through high school. We can vote in privacy for anyone we choose, and even write in a name not on the ballot. We can seek redress when we believe we need justice. When accused of something, we have a right to face our accusers. We have a right to an attorney if we must go to court. If we wish, we can complain about our federal, state, and local governments. If we have work, no one can fire us without just cause.
America is not perfect, but thank God for this country. Our forefathers, veterans, office holders, and others fought for these benefits. Thanks.
Some places, people fear the law. Respect for the police goes hand in hand with respect for all citizens. Did we forget that the police represent society (us)?
Greenfield, Mass., among other municipalities has good water, good police, good firemen, good schools and a good library. Thanks. Democracy works better with an active citizenship. Here, we even have a swimming pool.
