Proponents of Question 3 are trying to play off voters’ emotions without providing factual information. The main sponsor of Question 3 is the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). With a name like that, one might assume they own animal shelters — or at least are affiliated with some. False. HSUS is concerned with animal rights rather than animal welfare. Your local humane society is concerned about animal welfare. HSUS would simply like to end animal agriculture. One HSUS director even said, “There’s never an excuse to kill and eat an animal.” It’s one thing to have personal beliefs but quite another to force those beliefs on others.

HSUS would have you believe that the Diemand Farm doesn’t care about animals. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Albert Diemand started the farm in 1936 and the welfare of their animals has always been our top priority. Think about it rationally: what good would it do for them to abuse their livelihood? One doesn’t go into farming to be a millionaire. One does it because it’s a passion. SAVE OUR FAMILY FARMS AND VOTE “NO” ON QUESTION 3.
