After struggling with inconsistency through the last quarter of the season, winning just two of its five matches, the Turners Falls High School struggles continued Thursday evening in Springfield, where the ninth-seeded Indians eventually dropped a 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 decision to eighth-seeded Sabis International Charter School in the first round of the Western Massachusetts Division III Girls’ Volleyball Tournament in Springfield.
Jordyn Fiske collected 3 kills and 3 aces for Turners, while Melissa Hersey totaled 5 digs and 2 kills, and Abby Loynd chipped in with 3 kills and 1 dig.
Turners wrapped up its season 10-11 overall. Sabis (11-10) moves on to a quarterfinal match Monday night at 6:30 against top-seeded Lee High School.
