Single-family home sales in Franklin County showed a 9.4 percent increase for the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2015, according to a report from the Realtors Association of the Pioneer Valley.
The three-county association’s update also show the median sales price is up by 7.2 percent, to $200,000 — the highest level since early 2008.
The report says 443 single-family homes were sold through September this year. Just 405 for the first nine months of last year.
The number of pending sales through September —519 — is also up by 20.7 percent, from 430 for the same period in 2015.
The increases are more than Hampshire County’s 5.9 percent for homes sold and 6 percent for pending sales, and the increase in price is greater than the 1.2 percent gain there year-to-date, to $263,000.
Franklin County sellers also received 95.1 percent of their original asking price in the first nine months of this year — a 3.4 percent increase from the same period in 2015.
The association’s report also shows a 6.7 percent decrease in September sales, from September 2015. There was a nearly 23 percent reduction in the inventory of homes between September 2015 and 2016.
