Cancer walk raises more than $3,300

ORANGE — The 11th annual Mahar Cancer Walk on Oct. 8 raised more than $3,300 to assist local cancer patients.

Sandi Eklund, one of the event’s organizers, said though this amount is roughly $2,000 lower than was raised last year, the organizers are thankful for people’s generosity.

“We thank each one who had any part in this endeavor,” she said.

The event took place at the Ralph C. Mahar Regional School track and field.

Vew Athol property revaluations

ATHOL – Preliminary certification of the FY2017 revaluation has been granted by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. Public disclosure of these changes will run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 7.
