F.L. Roberts & Co., a longtime Springfield-based business, has sold its convenience stores and car wash locations to Nouria Energy Corp., including several locations in Franklin County and the Whately Diner.

According to a news release from Worcester-based Nouria Energy, the deal includes 26 convenience store locations with fuel including two truck stops, 22 Golden Nozzle car wash locations and the diner. In Franklin County, those locations include the F.L. Roberts on the Mohawk Trail in Greenfield; Roady’s Truck Stop and the Whately Diner on State Street in Whately; and the F.L. Roberts on Third Street in Turners Falls, which sold for a total of $6.35 million, according to a quitclaim deed filed with the Franklin County Registry of Deeds.

No deeds have been filed regarding the Golden Nozzle car wash on the Mohawk Trail in Greenfield or the Valero station, also owned by F.L. Roberts.

“The nearly century-old Roberts family business has established tremendous convenience store and car wash brands and created a family culture with generations of loyal employees. At this time, I want to welcome them to the Nouria organization,” said Tony El-Nemr, president and CEO of Nouria Energy Corp., in the release. “The acquisition of F.L. Roberts comes at a time when Nouria is solidly positioned for substantial growth. The acquisitions enhances our business profile with added revenue diversification and profit streams backed by strong c-store operations and an industry best car wash network.”

Founded in 1989 by El-Nemr, Nouria is one of New England’s largest family-owned and operated convenience stores and fuel retailers. It owns and operates 116 convenience store locations and 49 car washes in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
