Although I agree with the sentiment behind it, I think the slogan “Black Lives
Matter” was poorly chosen. It has provoked the rejoinder “All Lives Matter,” which is obviously true but negates the point of the movement.
A far better slogan that avoids this pitfall would be “Black Lives Matter, Too.” It conveys the idea that most lives have always mattered, but some have not — specifically, black lives.
