Selayna Bathurst had 3 kills and 4 digs Sunday afternoon but Frontier Regional School suffered a 25-14, 25-18, 25-14 loss to Notre Dame Academy of Hingham in an independent girls’ volleyball match Sunday at Goodnow Gymnasium in South Deerfield.

Sarah Zoly had 3 kills for the Red Hawks (5-8-0), while Lauren Davenport added 3 kills, 5 digs and an ace. Olivia Deane collected 2 kills and 5 digs, and Hailey Orloski had 2 kills and 2 digs.

Field hockey

Palmer 3, Pioneer 0 — Elizabeth Serra scored once in each half and Palmer High School took advantage of the few chances it got to defeat Pioneer Valley Regional School, 3-0, during the Smith Academy Field Hockey Tournament at Smith College in Northampton Sunday.

Neither team was able to pile up shots during the drizzly, wet Sunday conditions and Palmer finished with a 7-2 edge in shots. Three of those found there way past Pioneer goalie Hayley Pelletier, who finished with four saves in the loss.

Zoe Przybycien also scored in the first half for Palmer., which held a 6-2 edge in corners.

Rhea Dinelle stopped both shots she faced for the shutout.

Westfield 7, Pioneer 0 — Olivia Marcyoniak had three goals and an assist Sunday as Westfield High School defeated Pioneer, 7-0, in the opener of the Smith Academy Tournament.

Westfield led 4-0 at the break. Hannah Jarvis had two goals and one assist in the win, and Olivia Chaoush scored once and had a helper. Gwen Smith stopped one shot to pick up the shutout.

Pelleter made nine saves in the loss.
