SHELBURNE FALLS — State Police took an illegal handgun off the streets.
The firearm was found while Trooper Chad Tata of the Shelburne Falls barracks was on patrol on Route 2 in Shelburne Falls, according to a state police Facebook post. He had stopped someone driving with a suspended license. There was also a passenger.
The post goes on to say that during the traffic stop, Tata found and took a “fully-loaded Kurtz .398 9 mm handgun with two magazines” from the passenger of the car.
