Sen. Benjamin Downing, who announced in January he wouldn’t be seeking reelection, has endorsed Democrat Adam Hinds in the race for his seat, according to a press release from the Hinds Campaign.
“Adam will come to the job well prepared to build relationships without sacrificing our core values or bending to special interests,” Downing said in the release.
Hinds will face Republican Christine Canning on Nov. 8.
Downing and Senate President Stan Rosenberg will host a fundraiser for Hinds on Oct. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pittsfield County Club.
