It has been many months now since I wrote a letter to you.

Over many years, Irmarie Jones, Anita Fritz and you have published letters of mine regarding childhood memories, Greenfield’s Paul Revere Bell, the history of Greenfield’s Schools, recipes and others. I want to personally thank you and all of you for doing this for me.

Regarding Greenfield, it has and will continue to be a great community for every resident to enjoy living here.

It had at least three theaters; now there is only the Garden. It also had some wonderful stores to do your shopping, but many of them are long gone. It is somewhat sad to see a store that has been in business 97 years and the family who owned it decide to close. Other stores along Main, Federal and Chapman streets still are open after many years of service to their customers.

To the young generations in the area, be proud of the town where you reside and volunteer to serve and help out all you possibly can.

I have seen and been part of many changes in my lifetime and am so thankful that I have The Recorder to read six days a week, and I wish all of them there the very best. With its inserts as well, it has been part of my life these many years, and I am so thankful to live this long.

So many have passed on that I knew in Greenfield, and I miss all of them.

Thank you, again.
